CASTLETON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Architect: Byrum Architects

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

29,000 sf Sanctuary Addition

Value Engineering Reduced costs by $2,000,000!

Precast Concrete Panels increased insulation value and decreased costs.

Castleton United Methodist Church came to T&W with a large challenge. After spending over a year with another design-build team, their budget of $3,600,000 for the building was exceeded by $2,000,000. The challenge was to deliver the very traditional, colonial, 28,820 square foot facility for less than $125/sf, reducing almost $70/sf without reducing valuable ministry space. In a highly collaborative, high energy environment, the T&W Church Solutions team delivered.

On September 17, 2006, Castleton United Methodist Church broke ground for their new Worship Facility!  Pastor Mac Hamon (left) climbed into a CASE 580 backhoe, and "dug in" to start the job off right.

Later during the ceremony the congregation joined hands around a pre-sprayed outline of the new facility while a photographer climbed a ladder truck and took an impressive arial photo (below).  What an awesome sight...
